Help Us Tell the Stories of Area B!
We’re exploring the creation of a new online community newspaper for Fraser Valley Regional District Electoral Area B — and we’d love you to be part of it!
Our goal is to bring local news, community events, arts, culture, history and important issues together in one place, giving our rural communities a stronger voice.
We’re hoping to establish a network of citizen reporters from Sunshine Valley, Yale, Laidlaw, Spuzzum and other Area B communities. You don’t need journalism experience — just curiosity, an interest in your community and a willingness to share stories.
Our first step is to hire a part-time professional journalist who would coordinate the publication, mentor contributors and help ensure accurate, balanced reporting.
The project would be developed through the Silvertip Society, with stories published on Silvertipsociety.ca and MySunshineValley.ca.
Whether you’d like to write stories, take photographs, share local history, report on community events or help organize the project, we’d love to hear from you.
Help us build a community newspaper, by our communities, for our communities!
Contact us through info@SilvertipSociety.ca to express your interest.
